Weekend - May 14 & 15, 2005
My parents’ anniversary was on May 15th. So, I decided to visit them in Chennai.
Since its summer holidays over here, all transports are booked and it’s a hard task to get tickets. But luckily I could manage to get one.
My journey started at 10 PM, I boarded the bus at Airport Road. Then it went all the way to Madiwala to board some more passengers. That time, I realized the bus which I was traveling had more free seats. It was a shock for me. I checked in almost 10 travels for the weekend tickets, the answers were same, "No". Seeing the free seats in the bus, I was totally astonished. The bus stopped in that place for long time, to find some more passengers to Chennai. There were some people who didn’t have tickets and directly came to the stop to board the bus. For them, this is the bus. Then the bus slowly started and passing through the one-ways in Bangalore-Hosur Road, it picked up speed. It was non A/C bus, the journey was not pleasant. But i could manage to get some sleep in the bus.
The bus reached Chennai outskirts at 6:00, there I came to know that the bus will not go through the route, where I have to get down. So I got down somewhere in other place and went home in an auto-rickshaw. It was a sunny day, I could feel the hot of Chennai at 6:00 in the morning itself.
When I reached home, my brother-in-law and two of my cousins were ready to go for playing shuttle. Seeing that, I joined them without worrying about the trip tiredness. We played for about 2 hours and then had some fruit juice in the near by juice centre and returned home. Then as usual, the break fast was ready on time. Thanks for my mom, who makes lovely food, whatever it is, breakfast or lunch or dinner, it’s delicious. Then I took some rest, watching some TV shows. It’s too hot that I could not go out of home. And it was good to play with my niece. The day passed like that. In the evening, I went out for dinner with my BIL and cousins. It was long sunny day, and it was time to take some sleep. We returned home and were very tired, all went directly to bed.
Next day morning, we woke up bit early to play shuttle for longer time before the sun rises. And we did it. After playing for around 4 hours, we were back to home with some fresh fruit juices. Then again, as usual, food was ready. We had a nice break fast. And then an idea striked for one of my cousin to go out for a movie. We checked out the status of tickets and luckily we had few tickets for the movie "House of Wax". We packed ourselves and rushed to the theatre to watch the movies. The movie was played in Satyam Complex, the best theatre in Chennai. We had some snacks and watched the movie. It was a thriller movie. Not that good, but worth watching once.
After returning from the theatre, we had lunch at home. There was a special Non-Veg meal for the Non-vegetarians. Being a vegetarian, I could not enjoy that. But mom had made some special papad and rasam for me. That was a nice one.
Post lunch, had some chat with my parents, being their wedding anniversary. Then packed all
the things for my return trip to Bangalore in the night.
Before boarding the bus, I enjoyed having Podi idly and onion dosa for my dinner. Only companion for us which stayed with us always during my total trip was the SUN and the hot air. It was still sultry and very humid over there. Finally, the bus started and slowly picked up speed and came to Bangalore at 6 in the morning. One of my friends is also returning from his native place, Coimbatore. So, waited for him and we came back home.
Having not slept in the bus properly, took a nap and got ready for the office. And the week started in a good manner. Wish the same enjoyments and happiness carries through out the week.
